A pass out from DPS, R.K. Puram, Dr. Seema Oberoi Lall received her medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi and associated LNJP Hospital and GB Pant Hospital, Delhi. This was followed by a Masters in Dermatology, Venerology and Leprosy from University College of Medical Sciences and the associated GTB Hospital, Delhi.

Having received specialised Aesthetic Dermatology training from Bombay, she worked in Kaya Skin Clinic and Medwin Hospital, Hyderabad where she treated several Telugu film stars before joining Lall Hospitals as a Consultant. Her areas of interest include core Dermatology (including Paediatric Dermatology, Acne, Psoriasis, Allergies, Pregnancy Dermatosis) and Laser/Aesthetic skin treatments (like Botox, Fillers, Peels, PRP etc).

With numerous publications in various national and international journals to her name, she actively attends conferences and workshops to constantly update herself with the ever-increasing advances in dermatology, lasers and cosmetology. She is a life member of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), Association of Cutaneous Surgeons of India, Indian Medical Association (IMA), Cosmetic Dermatology Society of India (CDSI) and Haryana Medical Association.

Laser Hair Removal works best on thick, black hair and does not work on white, grey or light blonde hair follicles. Also, women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) may experience poor results unless they receive medical support along with the laser treatment.

The treated area is cleared of most of the existing hair during the treatment, while the rest of the treated hair sheds in two weeks leaving the area smooth and clean. Depending on the area, the skin remains clean and smooth for around 6 to 8 weeks in total, starting from the treatment date. By repeating the sessions on time (once the hair appears), the area will remain hair-free throughout the entire procedure.

We like to do the initial sessions 4-6 weeks apart depending on what area it is, to catch the majority of the hair in its growth cycle and burn it. The later sessions are planned according to the new hair growth. This time frame varies from person to person as well as from area to area.

Most people need 6 to 8 treatments. The requirement varies from person to person based on age, gender and hair colour. In some areas, such as the legs, face, chest, arms and underarms the results are achieved faster. The back area of men is usually more challenging and may take a few extra treatments.

You will not experience any damage to your skin. There is a possibility of short-term reactions such as redness and follicular edema, a temporary swelling of the hair root sac. These may take a few minutes to several hours to fade away.

No. With our new lasers, the process is almost painless. However, some people may feel a slight discomfort.

Results are visible from the very first session. The hair growth will be less and the hair finer, your skin becomes smoother and the hair pores, less visible. The results will become more impressive with each following session.

Yes, it is. The hair which is burnt during a laser hair removal session will never grow back. However, as hair grows in cycles, it takes multiple sessions to burn all the hair. Also, our bodies, as long as we are well and alive, will produce new hair. This process will continue despite laser hair removal. We, therefore, recommend clean-up sessions once or twice a year for select patients.
